The Tunica Humane Society described him as a \u201chappy and carefree dog\u201d who was \u201cnever a threat to anyone.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was found with his face severely burned and an extension cord tied around his neck. A child later admitted to the act, but due to his age\u2014under 12\u2014he could not be prosecuted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Long Road to Recovery<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Buddy was treated at Mississippi State University\u2019s College of Veterinary Medicine. His injuries were extensive, but his recovery began slowly. Dr. Elizabeth Swanson explained, \u201cBuddy\u2019s vital signs are good but, as with any burn patient, this is very much the bottom of a tall mountain to be climbed.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the trauma, Buddy remained strong. \u201cWe are keeping him comfortable, changing his bandages, and managing any problems as they arise.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Signs of Healing and Hope<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout his treatment, Buddy remained positive. The Humane Society noted, \u201cHe continues to move forward daily.
