However, his health had been declining. After a 2019 fall, he needed multiple back surgeries, with the second operation in 2023 \u201cdrastically wrong\u201d and \u201cvirtually left [him] crippled.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Understanding Parkinson\u2019s Disease<\/strong><br>Ozzy was diagnosed with Parkinson\u2019s disease in 2019. This neurodegenerative illness targets dopamine-producing brain cells and worsens over time. The Parkinson\u2019s Foundation says symptoms include \u201cslowness of movement,\u201d tremors, and \u201crigidity\u201d or stiffness. Diagnosis requires bradykinesia plus either stiffness or tremors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Beyond Movement Symptoms<\/strong><br>Parkinson\u2019s affects more than just movement. Non-motor symptoms can be worse, including \u201csleep disturbances,\u201d mental health issues like \u201capathy, sadness, and worry,\u201d plus constipation, memory problems, and difficulty speaking or swallowing.
