Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley released the annex Thursday. It supports claims that the FBI acted improperly when it launched the Trump-Russia investigation during the 2016 election, according to The Federalist<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The annex includes two Russian intelligence memos and internal Clinton campaign emails. One memo, dated July 25, 2016, shows Leonard Benardo of George Soros\u2019 Open Society Foundations allegedly wrote that the Russia hacking narrative was valuable and that \u201cpoliticization is on the table.\u201d He added, \u201cNow it is good for a post-convention bounce\u2026 Later the FBI will put more oil into the fire.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Two days later, another email claimed Clinton had approved an \u201cidea about Trump and Russian hackers hampering U.S. elections,\u201d to distract from \u201cher own missing email.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n U.S. intelligence officials were divided over the authenticity of the emails. Some believed they were \u201clikely authentic,\u201d while others raised concerns they may have been \u201cfabricated or altered.\u201d Benardo denied writing the emails but admitted parts \u201csounded like something he would have said.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The annex concluded the emails were likely a \u201ccomposite\u201d of several real emails obtained via Russian hacks of U.S. think tanks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Despite the documents, Clinton and her team denied any plan.
