This follows long-standing leads by Reform UK and France\u2019s National Rally. As NBC\u2019s Nic Cheeseman puts it, this is a \u201csign of the power of populism, disinformation and the failure of established parties to understand what is happening.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Shift Once Unthinkable<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A decade ago, far-right parties were fringe, known mostly for being anti-immigration and anti-Islam. Today, economic struggles and discontent with traditional politics have fueled their rise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Political Power Still Uncertain<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite leading polls, these parties remain far from winning majorities.
