Former prosecutor and Fox News host Trey Gowdy is releasing his first novel, The Color of Death<\/em>, on August 26. \u201cI lived it,\u201d Gowdy said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI lived it for almost two decades.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n This marks both Gowdy\u2019s debut in fiction and FOX News Books\u2019 first fiction release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Co-written with bestselling author Christopher Greyson, the novel follows Assistant District Attorney Colm Truesdale as he investigates a salon owner\u2019s murder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n From a missing appointment page to a burned crime scene, the case entangles a powerful judge\u2019s family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYes, it\u2019s a whodunit,\u201d Gowdy said. \u201cBut it\u2019s also about the psychology of what death does to people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Before Congress, Gowdy served nearly 20 years as a prosecutor, trying almost 100 cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI want readers to feel in the driver\u2019s seat with me\u2014from the moment a murder happens until the verdict is delivered,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The publisher, which launched in 2020, has sold over three million copies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Color of Death<\/em> is its 16th title and first novel.
