In a major enforcement action, India\u2019s Enforcement Directorate (ED) launched raids on eight premises in Bengaluru,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
including offices associated with George Soros\u2019 Open Society Foundations (OSF) and its investment arm,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scope of the Investigation<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ED is investigating claims that these entities channeled foreign funding into Indian NGOs and companies through unlawful means.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Authorities have alleged the usage of FDI and consultancy fee structures to bypass restrictions imposed by the Ministry of Home Affairs since 2016,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
which required prior approval for foreign contributions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
