Some Republicans broke ranks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sen. Josh Hawley said, \u201cMy position has long been I think we ought to release those files and trust the American people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sen. Rand Paul also opposed tabling the measure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Schumer bypassed normal procedures to force a vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
