Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez blamed gun violence and Republican inaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEvery single day people are dying due to gun violence in America,\u201d she said, \u201cand every single day,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>there are people in this building that continue to vote against doing anything.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When asked about her party\u2019s rhetoric, AOC said, \u201cYes, we need to talk about\u2026there are words\u2026but most importantly,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>we are in the job of leadership\u2026where the American people are looking to us to do something.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kirk was shot at Utah Valley University around 12:20 p.m., according to university official Ellen Treanor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cShots were fired from a building about 200 yards from the speaker,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe individual was hit and was taken away immediately by his security personnel\u2026 our campus police has a suspect in custody.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The campus was shut down for the day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Charlie Kirk Assassinated; AOC Blames Gun Laws Following the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk during a college event, Rep.
