mass shooting at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Authorities reported the attack also involved a large fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police identified the shooter as Thomas Jacob Sanford, 40, a former Marine who served in Iraq from 2004 to 2008.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sky News reported Sanford \u201cdrove a vehicle bearing two US<\/p>\n\n\n\n
national flags through the front doors of the church before opening fire with an assault rifle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sanford then \u201cdeliberately started a fire using gasoline,\u201d said James Deir, ATF Special Agent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The blaze has been extinguished, and authorities are searching the ruins for additional victims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
