The tragedy came as the pair were left home alone by their mother while her husband was at work, say law enforcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Passersby heard a girl screaming from a fourth-floor window,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
then saw the motionless baby on the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Witnesses said their \u2018knees went weak\u2019 at the horrific sight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Paramedics confirmed the 21-day-old\u2019s death at the scene after<\/p>\n\n\n\n
falling onto concrete from a residential building in Vasilyevo village,Rusia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018A criminal case has been opened over the death of the infant,\u2019 said the Russian Investigative Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Their mother now faces prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Investigators are examining whether the five-year-old was \u2018jealous\u2019 of the new baby,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and the mother\u2019s motive for leaving her daughters home alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
