Kevin Cramer suffered a seizure and brain bleed after slipping on ice at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He shared on Facebook: \u201cLate yesterday afternoon, I walked to my backyard\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I stepped on ice and evidently fell hard, hitting the back of my head.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cramer blacked out until arriving at the hospital with his wife, Kris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Medical Update<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After tests, including a CT scan, he was diagnosed with \u201ca severe concussion, a seizure, and a slight brain bleed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added, \u201cI am better today with only a slight brain bleed and pretty bad headaches\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am grateful for her and the professionals at Sanford who take such good care of me. God is good!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Senate Context<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cramer\u2019s absence leaves 52 Republicans in the Senate,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>following a busy week of confirmations and budget votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Personal Challenges<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Late last year, Cramer\u2019s son Ian was sentenced to 28 years for killing a sheriff\u2019s deputy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The senator noted Ian \u201csuffers from serious mental disorders that manifest in severe paranoia and hallucinations.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Accident and Recovery North Dakota Republican Sen.
