In the past, having a large number of children was common, unlike today where it’s rare to see big families. Even raising one or two children remains a challenge.

Most families today have 1-3 children, resembling the old days when grandparents grew up in households with 6-10 children!

In the 1920s, a family from Boston, USA caught the attention of local photographer Leslie Jones. The family consisted of a mother, father, 10 girls, 2 boys, and a baby, making for a bustling household.

The older children were already teenagers, while the youngest, around four years old, posed a challenge in identifying their gender.

Managing a household with so many children meant lots of chores, sharing, and wearing hand-me-downs. Yet, they seemed to have established their own way of life.

While they only had one car, they found a way to fit everyone inside, though safety measures like car seats were nonexistent back then.

Looking at these photos evokes a sense of nostalgia, capturing the unique atmosphere of a large family in a bygone era.
