Terrifying moment heroic civilian disarmed
Heroic Intervention at Bondi Beach
Following a terror attack at Sydney’s Bondi Beach during a Hanukkah celebration,
a bystander was praised for stopping one of the shooters.
The attack left twelve people dead.
Viral Footage and the Takedown
Video shows 43-year-old father Ahmed Al Ahmed crouching behind a car as a gunman fired.
With the shooter’s back turned, Ahmed approached from behind, tackled him,
and wrestled the firearm away during a brief struggle.
Aftermath and Injuries
After disarming the attacker, Ahmed aimed the weapon at the fleeing gunman,
then placed it on the ground as shots continued from a second shooter on a nearby bridge.
Another bystander intervened and was reportedly injured.
Ahmed, a fruit shop owner with no firearms experience, suffered gunshot wounds to his arm and shoulder.
Official Praise and Condemnation
Australian Premier Chris Minns called Ahmed a “genuine hero,”
while Prime Minister Anthony Albanese condemned the attack as antisemitic terrorism.
