Remembering Emmy Award Winner Anthony

The television world mourned Anthony Geary, the eight-time Daytime Emmy winner best known as Luke Spencer on General Hospital.

Geary died on December 14, 2025, in Amsterdam, where he had lived privately after retiring.

His husband, Claudio Gama, confirmed the death, calling it “unexpected and deeply personal,”

and said it felt like “the end of an era” for longtime fans.

After leaving General Hospital in 2015, Geary embraced a quiet life abroad, valuing privacy and routine.

Gama said his final days raised “no public concern,” noting his death followed complications from a planned medical procedure.

A brief social media post described “an ordinary evening at home,” later seen as deeply poignant.

Tributes followed swiftly. Executive producer Frank Valentini praised Geary’s brilliance,

while ABC honored his record Emmy wins and lasting impact.

Colleagues remembered a career defined by originality, dedication, and heart.
