The Day the Woods Chose Me

An Unsettling Encounter

“What unsettled me most wasn’t fear—it was the absence of it.” Two deer appeared without alarm,

one locking eyes in a way that felt intentional. What seemed like a harmless moment quickly felt strange.

The Gift

The smaller deer approached and left behind “a small wooden box.” Inside was “a heavy silver locket etched with unfamiliar symbols,”

unsettling to look at. When the narrator looked up, the deer was already disappearing, “as if inviting me to follow.”

Into the Woods

The forest grew unnaturally silent. In a clearing beneath a massive oak, the deer vanished. Digging at disturbed soil revealed a stone tablet and

“an old parchment bearing a message meant for no one—and somehow, for me.”

Aftermath

“I haven’t slept well since.” Research uncovered legends of “The Veil,” with the locket as a key and deer as messengers—proof this was “never just a walk near the woods.”
