Former Prince Andrew arrested on suspicion
Prince Andrew, now known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, has been arrested in the U.K. on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
Thames Valley Police confirmed he was taken into custody after a “thorough assessment,” with searches conducted

in Berkshire and Norfolk. He has not been charged and can be held for up to 96 hours.
In a statement released by Buckingham Palace, King Charles III said: “Let me state clearly: the law must take its course.”

He added that authorities have the family’s “full and wholehearted support and co-operation.”
The arrest is linked to allegations connected to Jeffrey Epstein.
The family of accuser Virginia Giuffre responded, saying, “no one is above the law, not even royalty.”

Misconduct in public office is a serious common law offense that can carry a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. Investigations remain ongoing.
