If Obama and Trump went head-to-head

A hypothetical 2028 matchup between Donald Trump and Barack Obama has

drawn attention, even though it is unconstitutional. The 22nd Amendment to the

United States Constitution limits presidents to two terms, blocking both from running again.

Still, Trump has fueled speculation. Asked about facing Obama, he said he would

“love that” and called it “a good one.” He also told NBC News that “a lot of people

want me to do it” and added, “I’m not joking… there are methods,”

though he admitted it is early in his term. Obama has not commented.

A Daily Mail/J.L. Partners poll of 1,013 voters found 52% would choose Obama,

while 41% preferred Trump. Obama led strongly among Hispanic (73%) and Black (68%) voters.

Changing the Constitution would require two-thirds of Congress and approval from

38 states—an extremely high bar. Though the scenario remains a

“what if,” Trump’s remarks continue to spark debate.
