Bull Rider Dies After Tragic Accident in Texas
A 24-year-old professional bull rider, Dylan Grant, died after being trampled by a bull during a rodeo event in Texas, according to the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA).
Accident During Competition
Grant was thrown from a bull during the second round of an Xtreme Bulls competition at the Wharton County Youth Fair on Thursday. After being thrown, he was trampled, the PRCA said in a statement reported by ABC News.
Emergency Response and Hospitalization
Emergency crews responded quickly. “Emergency responders quickly reached Grant, placed him in an ambulance, and worked to stabilize him before he was airlifted to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in Houston.” Despite their efforts, “he later succumbed to his injuries,” officials confirmed.
Rising Career Cut Short
Grant was from Laramie, Wyoming, and had been building a strong career in rodeo. According to his PRCA biography, he had competed in multiple events and earned over $15,000.
He first received his PRCA permit in 2018 and officially joined the association on February 14, 2024, when he purchased his PRCA card.
