I Came Home With My Newborn to a Ruined Nursery Unt
Three days after my emergency C-section, I entered Olivia’s nursery and was shocked to see the cream walls covered in black paint.
My mother-in-law, Patricia, had destroyed the nursery I had carefully prepared.
She said Olivia did not need a special room because she was not the male heir the family expected. Relatives had apparently been told they would simply “try again for a boy.”
My husband Stephen admitted he had heard similar comments but had not stopped them.
His grandfather Walter soon arrived and corrected Patricia, explaining there had never been a rule that leadership had to pass from father to son.
Stephen then made his decision clear: he would give up every investment and inheritance before letting Olivia believe she was less valuable than a son who did not exist.
Walter supported him and removed Patricia from company decisions.
Stephen later restored the nursery himself. His three crooked wildflowers were imperfect, but I kept them. They reminded us that Olivia never had to earn her place. She was already loved, protected, and enough.
