Before her passing, Connie revealed that her health was declining. She had a hospital stay and was in intensive care, as confirmed by radio personality Cousin Brucie and her own Facebook posts. Earlier in her life, she had discussed being misdiagnosed with conditions like bipolar disorder and ADHD in a 2011 interview with The Village Voice.
