Shooting at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital

On Thursday morning around 7:08 a.m., an active shooter incident occurred at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital, just north of Detroit. The hospital quickly went into lockdown after shots were fired in the parking garage, causing panic across the campus.

Employee Targets Coworker

The suspect was confirmed to be a hospital employee who shot a 25-year-old coworker twice in the arm. “The motive behind the attack has not yet been disclosed,” but the fact both worked at the same place adds a troubling dimension.

Victim Stabilized, Suspect Apprehended

The victim was rushed to the hospital’s emergency department and is now in stable condition. Officials said medical staff “were able to stabilize the individual,” and he is expected to recover. Law enforcement responded swiftly and arrested the suspect without further incident.
