BREAKING: 11 injured in mass stabbing
11 Injured in Michigan Walmart Stabbing
Eleven people were injured in a stabbing spree at a Walmart in Traverse City, Michigan, Saturday afternoon. Six remain in serious condition.
The suspect, 42-year-old Bradford Gille of Afton, Michigan, was arrested within a minute and faces charges including terrorism and attempted murder. Sheriff Michael Shea called the response “remarkable,” noting that “the individual was detained within one minute.”
Authorities said the attack was random. Gille, armed with a folding knife, began stabbing near the checkout area around 4:45 p.m. Walmart employee Tasha Nash recalled, “The whole store started screaming and running. I saw someone stabbed in the eye.”
Witness Tiffany DeFell said, “This is something you see in movies. Not in your hometown.” Another witness, Steven Carter, added, “It all happened fast… he was subdued by the time police arrived.”
Walmart stated, “Violence like this is unacceptable,” and thanked first responders. The motive remains under investigation.
