Fetterman Backs ICE Arrests; Luna Demands Death Penalty
Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) voiced support for ICE’s arrest of 214 illegal immigrants in Houston accused or convicted of child sex crimes. “I don’t support or agree with all of ICE’s tactics or actions. I do fully support moves like these,” he posted on X.
ICE highlighted one arrest: “Jose Guadalupe Meza, a 40-year-old, four-time deported criminal alien from Mexico… convicted of theft and sexual assault of a child.”
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) reacted strongly: “Skip deportation. Go directly to the death penalty. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.”
ICE official Paul McBride stated the operation reflects “the arrest and removal of historic numbers of violent criminal aliens, transnational gang members and child sex offenders.”
Although Fetterman opposes abolishing ICE, he voted against a Trump-backed bill boosting ICE funding and completing the border wall, showing division even among those supporting enforcement actions.
