Cincinnati Police Chief Faces Lawsuit Alleging

Former Officers Sue Over Discrimination
Four former Cincinnati police officers are suing Chief Teresa Theetge and the city, alleging “intentional and discriminatory practices” that favored women and minority officers.

They claim white men were excluded from key roles and promotions.

Promotion and Assignment Bias
The lawsuit argues promotions and preferred assignments went to minorities and women “to the exclusion of White men.

” The officers say they lost benefits, career opportunities, and suffered emotional harm.

Alleged Quotas and Broader Concerns
Plaintiffs accuse the department of using race-based quotas since Chief Theetge took over. Their lawyer, Zack Gottesman, said, “These cases show systemic discrimination against white individuals… in promotions, assignments, and workplace treatment.”

Seeking Justice and Court Action
The officers are asking for lost wages, emotional distress damages, and a court order to end the alleged bias. In a past case, a federal judge barred race- or sex-based quotas in hiring and promotions.
