Trump Puts End To Biden-Era ‘Quiet Amnesty’ For Illegals
Trump’s DHS Reopens Closed Deportation Cases
The Department of Homeland Security under President Trump is reversing Biden-era immigration policies by reopening deportation cases that had been dismissed or paused. These changes target over 700,000 illegal migrants whose cases were closed under what critics called Biden’s “quiet amnesty.”
“Biden chose to release millions of illegal aliens, including criminals… and allow them to illegally remain in the United States,” said DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin. “Now, President Trump and Secretary Noem are… resuming these illegal aliens’ removal proceedings.”
Criticism of Biden’s Immigration Policies
A House Judiciary Subcommittee report stated: “This sort of quiet amnesty has become a staple of the Biden-Harris Administration’s immigration courts.”
