Tragic Loss After Hopeful Start
Baby Ellieana Peyton was born on March 4 with cardiomyopathy, a rare heart condition. Despite the diagnosis, her family said she was stable and being closely monitored in the NICU at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Unthinkable Accident
While Ellieana’s parents briefly left to shower, tragedy struck. “They were told their nurse had kept the baby’s monitor cords in her pocket and when she went to walk away, the baby was then dragged from her NICU crib,” wrote family friend Stella Dunlap.
A Heartbreaking Goodbye
Ellieana suffered a fractured skull and brain bleeds. The coroner ruled her fall accidental. She passed away on March 31, just 29 days old. “She made this world a better place for 29 days.”
Remembering Ellieana
Her family described her as having “the most contagious smile” and “beautiful brown eyes.” “She was so loved,” they said, thanking supporters as they grieve her loss.
