I PAID FOR A STRANGER’S GROCERIES TWO YEARS AGO

A Simple Act of Kindness Comes Full Circle

Two years ago, Lisa noticed an elderly man struggling to pay for groceries. His hands shook as he counted coins, “clearly short of the amount needed.”

Without hesitation, Lisa paid the difference.

The man, with “tear-filled eyes,” whispered that she had “no idea how much her act of kindness meant.”

Life moved on, and Lisa forgot the moment—until today.

In her mailbox was an envelope with no return address.

Inside was a handwritten letter and a generous check.

The man wrote that her kindness helped him “through a dark time” and that he never forgot it.

Now, having come into some money, he wanted to “pay it forward.”

For Lisa, the gift was touching, but the message was deeper: even the smallest acts of compassion can leave lasting echoes.
