Jason Aldean Keeps Promise to 13-Year-Old Cancer Warrior

Jason Aldean honored a TikTok request from 13-year-old Devarje “DJ” Daniel during his FULL THROTTLE Tour stop in Houston on August 15. DJ, battling brain and spinal cancer since 2018, had asked the singer to help raise money for kids with cancer.

A Viral Wish Comes True

The video caught Aldean’s attention, and on stage he told fans, “I spent a few hours with this guy today… he’s a kid that will brighten your day up.” DJ joined Aldean, his dad, and Heroes for Children as the singer announced a $200,000 donation to the nonprofit. Calling DJ “an inspiration to everybody,” Aldean added, “We’re gonna stay in touch. We’re buddies now, right?”

A Moment of Laughter and Hope

DJ charmed the crowd with, “Are y’all parking tickets? ’Cause I heard y’all got hella fine written all over you.” Earlier, he played mini golf with Aldean and met Astros legends at a Heroes for Children event.

Defying the Odds

Despite 13 brain surgeries and new tumors, DJ says, “We’re just going around showing people, ‘Hey, you do care for one another.’” The White House called him “a true legend.” Through social media and music, DJ continues spreading hope and compassion.
