School shooting suspect who killed 2 kids and injured 17
Shooting at Minneapolis School
The first week of school in Minneapolis ended in tragedy when 23-year-old Robin Westman opened fire outside Annunciation Catholic Church during a school Mass.
Two children were killed and 17 others injured.
Authorities said Westman “died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound shortly after the rampage.”
Hospital Response
Hennepin Healthcare declared a “mass-casualty” incident. Dr. Thomas Wyatt said seven patients were in critical condition, including nine children aged 6–14.
Extra operating rooms were opened, and pediatric teams were called in as families searched for loved ones.

Suspect and Investigation
Westman, who had attended the school previously, uploaded videos and a note before the attack.
The note stated, “I don’t want the rest of my life to be as a cancer patient,” and ended with a plea to “pray for the victims and their families.”
Police are examining firearms, electronics, and motives.

Community Grief
Classes were canceled and counseling offered. One parent said, “It was the first week—
they were excited for Mass and to see their friends.
Now my son is afraid to walk into a church.”
