A gunman opened fire during a school service at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis, killing two children and injuring 17 others.

Attack Details

Westman fired through stained glass windows using a rifle, shotgun, and pistol.

Investigators found church doors barricaded with wooden boards, suggesting an attempt to trap victims inside.

Shooter’s Note and Writings

Before the attack, Westman posted a suicide note and videos.

“I was corrupted by this world and have learned to hate what life is,” Westman wrote, while apologizing to family and asking for prayers for victims.

In contrast, one rifle magazine read, “For the children, hahahahahahaha.”

Mayor Jacob Frey urged focus on victims: “Kids died today.

This needs to be about them.”

A prayer vigil was held Wednesday evening as the investigation continues.
