Actor Graham Greene passed away on September 1, 2025, at age 73, with his wife Hilary Blackmore by his side.
The couple was just months away from celebrating 35 years of marriage.
How It Began
They reportedly met in 1989 during a Toronto play.
“I dropped a wrench on her out of the grid to get her attention,”
Greene said.
They married in 1990 in South Dakota’s Black Hills, near the Dances With Wolves set.
Life Together
Hilary stepped back from acting to support Greene’s career. He once said, “I called my wife, Hilary, and said, ‘You won’t believe this.
I’ve just been nominated for an Oscar.’”
They lived quietly near Toronto with cats, a log home, and separate creative spaces.
A Gentle Conflict
Their biggest disagreement? “We argue about decorating the tree every year,” Hilary shared.
Despite this, their 34-year marriage stood strong.
Greene is survived by Hilary, daughter Lilly, and grandson Tarlo.
