Heartbreaking autopsy results revealed
Autopsy Results
The autopsy of the infant found in the closet of 21-year-old Laken Snelling is “undetermined,”
with further microscopic testing needed, officials said.
Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn stated,
“We are conducting a thorough and methodical death investigation to ensure all facts are carefully considered.”
Investigation Details
Snelling admitted to giving birth and “concealing the birth by cleaning any evidence,
placing all cleaning items used inside of a black trash bag, including the infant, who was wrapped in a towel.”
Experts warned that determining the cause of death can take weeks.
As Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison said,

“There are things they can’t see with the naked eye, the coroner can’t see or can only see externally, so we have to do these tests.”
Legal Proceedings
Snelling pleaded not guilty to abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence,
was released on $100,000 bond, and is under home incarceration.
Background
The case has drawn attention due to Snelling’s social media and reports of past bullying.
“She was obsessed with her appearance, very obsessed with being popular and fitting in,” said a former classmate.
