FBI Arrests Chicago Man Over Threats
Arrest for Threats
Federal agents arrested Michael Stover, 33,
Friday morning for making violent threats against ICE officers and “well-known political figures,” according to court records.
He appeared in U.S. District Court, charged with a felony count of making a true threat.
Social Media Posts
Prosecutors say Stover posted multiple threats online, including:
“The us president just said he wants to purpose build concentration camps for his political enemies…
Put down your posters and selfie sticks and pick up a weapon!”
He also shared a photo of rifle bullets labeled with politicians’ names atop knives.
Seized Weapons
After his FOID card was revoked, police seized six handguns, five rifles, a shotgun, and ammunition.
Despite the seizure, Stover continued posting threats, writing in July:
“ICE is a terrorist organization… we should shoot them down like dogs.”
Court Proceedings
Stover has not entered a plea. Federal prosecutors requested he remain in custody pending a detention hearing scheduled for September 10.
