Teen loses his life saving four young kids
A Heroic Act
In April 2023, 16-year-old Bryce Brooks of Atlanta was vacationing in Pensacola,
Florida, when he saw four children trapped in a rip current.
Without hesitation, Bryce and friends jumped in to help.

His Final Sacrifice
As he fought the waves, Bryce shouted not for himself but for the children:
“He was calling for help for the little kids he was looking out for,” father Shivy Brooks said.

Pulled under, Bryce suffered cardiac arrest. Family friend Charles “Uncle Chuck” Johnson also lost his life trying to save him.
A Father’s Pride
“Bryce is a hero. He literally saved the lives of four kids at the expense of his own,” Shivy said.
His mother Crystal added, “It doesn’t take away an ounce of pain, but it makes me proud of our son and what he sacrificed.
Carrying His Legacy
The family launched the Bryce Brooks Foundation, providing free swim lessons and lifeguard scholarships.
Shivy reflected: “Bryce has always been my hero.”
