These ‘Puppies’ Found Under An Old
Garden Surprise
While cleaning his garden, Craig McGettrick found five small animals hidden under an old mattress.
He assumed someone had abandoned them and brought them to an animal shelter.
Social Media Twist
After Craig posted photos online, a “really sweet lady” contacted a fox rescue group, believing the animals were not puppies.
“Once I saw the pictures, I knew for sure these were fox cubs,” said the group’s founder.
Shelter Mistake
Even the shelter staff had thought the animals were dogs.
The national fox group explained the mattress was likely a fox den used by their mother.
Reunion in the Wild
To reunite the cubs with their mother, they were returned to Craig’s garden.
Soon after, a fox approached the box, inspected the cubs, and carried them away.
Experts agreed, “They’d thrive more if raised by their natural mother in the wild.”
