Nurse Suspended After Blowing Whistle
Incident Sparks Controversy
Nurse Lexi Kuenzle, 33, says she faced career-threatening retaliation after confronting Dr. Matthew Jung,
who allegedly “cheered” the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk at Englewood Health in New Jersey.
Shocked, Kuenzle responded, “You’re a doctor.
How could you say someone deserved to die?”
Reporting and Retaliation
Kuenzle reported the incident to supervisors and shared it online.
The next day, she claims, she was suspended without pay and warned of possible termination,
which her attorney says was retaliation for her Christian faith and moral objection.
Legal Action
Attorney John Coyle asserts the hospital violated anti-discrimination laws and created a hostile workplace.
The lawsuit seeks a jury trial, damages, and accountability for “mind-blowing behavior” by a senior physician.
Public and Political Fallout
While the hospital investigates, Jung’s profile was removed from its website.
Kuenzle says the case is “about basic human dignity,”
raising broader questions about professional responsibility,
free speech, and patient trust.
