Taylor Swift Tests Positive for COVID-19, Postpones Chicago Show

Taylor Swift has tested positive for COVID-19, forcing her to postpone tonight’s sold-out

Eras Tour concert in Chicago. In an emotional Instagram post, the 34-year-old singer wrote,

“I’ve been dodging this for four years, but it finally got me. I’m so sorry to let you down.”

A Difficult Decision

Swift, who has never canceled a show due to illness in her 17-year career, said the

choice was “devastating” but necessary to protect her crew, dancers, and fans.

She reportedly began feeling “achy and exhausted” after last night’s performance and

tested positive this morning. Her team has postponed the Chicago dates and begun testing all staff.

Fans and Friends Show Support

Messages of encouragement quickly flooded social media under #GetWellSoonTaylor. Ed Sheeran, recalling his own COVID experience, joked, “Welcome to the worst club ever.”

Looking Ahead

Promoters plan to reschedule the shows for late August.

Swift promised to make her return “worth the wait — double the pyro and triple the surprises.” For now, she’s resting at home, writing, “Just me, tea, All Too Well (10-Minute Version) on loop, and my cats.”
