Diane Keaton’s Passing

Oscar-winning actress Diane Keaton has died at 79.

According to 911 audio obtained by TMZ, a dispatcher reported a “person down” at her home early Saturday, October 11.

Keaton was taken to a hospital, where her family later confirmed she passed “peacefully.”

Health Decline

A close friend said, “She declined very suddenly, which was heartbreaking for everyone who loved her.”

In recent months, Keaton was surrounded only by her closest family, keeping her condition private.

Songwriter Carole Bayer Sager recalled seeing her “very thin” after her Los Angeles home was damaged by wildfires.

Sager said, “She was completely creative; she never stopped creating.”

Friends described her as funny and spirited.

Goldie Hawn wrote, “Diane, we aren’t ready to lose you… Shine your fairy dust up there, girlfriend.”

Bette Midler added, “The brilliant, beautiful, extraordinary Diane Keaton has died. She was hilarious, a complete original.”

Legacy

Keaton won an Oscar for Annie Hall and starred in films like The First Wives Club and Book Club.

She is survived by her children, Dexter and Duke.
