Bernie Sanders calls out Trump’s eye-popping
Trump’s Salary vs. Wealth
Donald Trump often says he doesn’t take a presidential salary.
As president, he earns $400,000 a year, plus allowances,
and has donated portions of his salary to causes and White House renovations.
Massive Settlements
In 2025, Trump won huge legal payouts.
Meta agreed to pay $25 million, with $22 million going to his presidential library.
YouTube settled for $24.5 million, and Twitter (X) for $10 million.
Paramount and CBS contributed $16 million plus $20 million in advertising.

Criticism and Controversy
Senator Bernie Sanders tweeted: “This is what kleptocracy looks like,”
highlighting Trump’s reported 2025 earnings,
including $3 billion from crypto and $230 million sought from the DOJ.
Trump’s Perspective
Trump defended the payouts, saying, “All I know is that they would owe me a lot of money.
But I’m not looking for money. I’d give it to charity or something.”
Questions remain about whether such earnings are appropriate for a sitting president.
