Trump DOJ Announces Largest Medicaid

Largest Medicaid Fraud Bust in U.S. History Announced by DOJ

The Department of Justice, under former President Donald Trump, unveiled the largest Medicaid fraud bust in U.S. history,

targeting a criminal network accused of siphoning hundreds of millions of dollars from the healthcare system.

A senior DOJ official described the case as “the most significant enforcement action in the history of Medicaid,”

calling it a massive, coordinated scheme that exploited vulnerable patients and misused taxpayer funds.

The multi-year investigation involved the FBI, HHS-OIG, and numerous U.S. Attorneys’ Offices across the country.

The fraud network allegedly included medical professionals, healthcare companies, billing agents, and shell organizations,

submitting claims for services that were never provided, unnecessary, or inflated.

Some reportedly recruited Medicaid recipients under false pretenses to facilitate the scheme.

Officials stressed that the bust highlights the DOJ’s commitment to protecting public funds, ensuring accountability,

and preventing future healthcare fraud, signaling a historic victory in the fight against systemic abuse of federal programs.
