Senate Republicans Push Through Confirmation
Senate Republicans Approve Over 100 Trump Nominees in Major Confirmation Push
In a landmark move, Senate Republicans confirmed more than 100 of President Donald Trump’s nominees in a single session
— one of the biggest confirmation waves in recent history.
The action followed months of partisan gridlock and a new procedura
l rule that allowed the Senate to approve nominees in bulk rather than individually.
The late-night confirmations included Herschel Walker, named U.S. Ambassador to the Bahamas,
and Sergio Gor, appointed Ambassador to India, along with dozens of other key ambassadorial and agency roles long left vacant.
Republicans accused Democrats of delaying the process for political reasons.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) defended the move, saying,
“This is about ensuring government works again.
The American people deserve a functioning administration, not endless political theater.”
The mass approvals mark a turning point
in Trump’s effort to reshape federal leadership and accelerate his administration’s agenda.
