Jamie Lee Curtis Responds to Backlash Over Charlie Kirk Comments
The murder of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk shocked the world, and actress Jamie Lee Curtis was among those who spoke out.
On the WTF with Marc Maron podcast, Curtis said she
“disagreed with him on almost every point I ever heard him say,” but believed “he was a man of faith.”
Through tears, she added, “I hope in that moment when he died that he felt connected to his faith.”
While many praised her empathy, others criticized Curtis for
“praising” Kirk despite his controversial views, including his rejection of transgender rights.
In a later interview with Variety, Curtis clarified her remarks:
“An excerpt of it mistranslated what I was saying as I wished him well…
I was simply talking about his faith in God.” She added, “In the binary world today, you cannot hold
two ideas at the same time… you get vilified for having a mind that says, ‘I can hold both those thoughts.’”
