Fetterman Apologizes for Ongoing Government Shutdown

Senator John Fetterman (D-Pa.) apologized for Democrats’

failure to end the government shutdown, now entering its fourth week.

He called the situation an “absolute failure” and said,

“I’m apologizing that we can’t even get our s— together and just open up our government.”

The shutdown has halted SNAP funding, putting food aid for 42 million Americans at risk.

Fetterman noted that lines at his wife’s Pennsylvania food bank are already growing as families lose benefits.

While he has backed every bill to reopen the government,

Fetterman criticized his party’s inability to reach a deal with Republicans, saying it shows

“significant problems within the Democratic Party.”

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer blamed President Trump for “manufacturing a hunger crisis,”

while Republicans insist on passing a clean funding bill before negotiating other priorities.
