White House responds after Tru
Former President Donald Trump insulted a reporter, calling her “piggy,” during a flight on Air Force One. The incident occurred on Friday, November 14.
The reporter, Catherine Lucey from Bloomberg, asked Trump a question about newly released Jeffrey Epstein emails. She specifically asked if anything in them was “incriminating.”
Trump became visibly agitated by the line of questioning. He responded by pointing at her and saying, “Quiet. Quiet, piggy.”
He further criticized her, stating, “You are the worst!” and questioning why Bloomberg employed her. The exchange drew immediate criticism online.
A representative for Bloomberg News defended their journalist. They stated that their reporters perform a vital public service by asking questions without fear.
In response, a White House official defended Trump’s comments. They claimed the reporter had behaved unprofessionally towards her colleagues, but provided no specific details.
Trump has consistently denied any prior knowledge of Epstein’s crimes. The White House has dismissed the email leaks as a politically motivated “hoax” intended to smear him.
