What was meant to be “the joyful start of a new life” ended in tragedy when
Raja Raghuvanshi was found dead in a remote canyon during his honeymoon in Shillong.
His body was discovered “stripped of identification, wedding ring, and life.”
Police first suspected Raj Kushwaha, but investigation revealed that Raja’s wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi,
was the true planner. Authorities say she “manipulated Raj with false promises of love” and
recruited three men—Vishal Singh, Anand Kurmi, and Akash Rajput—by offering money.
Sonam “tracked Raja’s location,” leading the group to him.
He was likely ambushed and pushed into the gorge between May 23–24.
After the killing, Raj returned home believing he would reunite with Sonam.
Instead, he learned she was “secretly involved with a third man” and intended to target Raj next.
Sonam’s web of deception left investigators uncovering multiple layers of betrayal.
