Kirk Cameron flees Californi
Kirk Cameron, star of Growing Pains, has officially left California for Tennessee, saying the move has been a long time coming.
He cited concerns about California’s “division” and cultural shifts as reasons for leaving.
“California’s been moving in a particular direction for a long time,” he told the Washington Examiner.
Family was also a key factor—three of his grown children live in Tennessee—and he appreciated the state’s “healthy freedom mindset.”
Cameron added, “If everything hits the fan and there’s some serious economic problems and division going on,
they want to be around people who are all about God, family, and country.”
He joked about the influx of fellow Californians: “It’s shocking how many Californians are here.
And when I see them in the grocery store, I tell them, ‘Don’t California our Tennessee.’”
His sister, Candace Cameron Bure, has also moved for “safety and security,” making Tennessee appealing for family and values.
