Over $1.3 million raised for hero

A deadly terror attack at Sydney’s Bondi Beach on December 14 left at least 15 people dead and

dozens injured as families gathered for a Hanukkah celebration.

While the world mourned, attention turned to a civilian hero, Ahmed al Ahmed.

As chaos unfolded, Ahmed confronted one of the gunmen and disarmed him, actions that authorities say saved many lives.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump praised him, calling Ahmed “a very brave person actually who went and

attacked frontally one of the shooters and saved a lot of lives.”

Ahmed, a 43-year-old father of two, was injured during the struggle and remains hospitalized but is recovering.

His cousin said, “He is a hero, 100 percent he is a hero.”

New South Wales Premier Chris Minns echoed the sentiment, writing,

“Ahmed is a real-life hero,” crediting his courage with preventing further loss of life.
