Tragedy Strikes Harber Family in Texas Floods
Blair (13) and Brooke Harber (11) tragically lost their lives during the devastating Hill Country floods on July 4, 2025.
Their bodies were found 15 miles away, still holding hands. Their grandparents, Mike and Charlene Harber, remain missing.
Parents’ Desperate Efforts
Staying at a riverfront home in Hunt, Texas, the family was caught off guard by the storm. “The water came up to their necks,” said Jennifer Harber. R.J. and Annie Harber broke a window to escape but couldn’t reach the girls or parents.
Community Support
A GoFundMe campaign has raised over $169,000. Photos shared show “holiday gatherings, sunny afternoons, and loving moments.” A joint funeral will be held in Dallas.
Wider Impact
Over 80 lives were lost statewide. “Texans have rallied in support,” and Pope Leo XIV offered prayers. The Harber story stands as a heartbreaking reminder of love, loss, and resilience.
