Tragic Loss in Texas Floods

Clark Hunt’s wife, Tavia, confirmed the death of a young family member, Janie Hunt, in the recent Texas floods that claimed at least 82 lives.

“Our hearts are broken by the devastation… including a precious little Hunt cousin,” she shared on Instagram.

Camp Mystic Devastation

Floodwaters surged 30 feet above normal levels, striking Camp Mystic, an all-girls Christian camp. Over 750 girls were present. Director Richard Eastland, 70, died trying to save campers. “This wasn’t a forecasting failure… it was a breakdown in communication,” said meteorologist Matt Lanza.

Delayed Warnings Questioned

The National Weather Service issued alerts, but officials argue they came too late. Younger girls sleeping near the river were hardest hit.

Calls for Prayer and Action

Governor Greg Abbott declared a day of prayer and vowed continued rescue efforts: “Our hope and prayer is that there is still people alive that are out there.”
