Quick-Thinking Couple Honk Their Way To Heroism

Minnesota Couple Helps Save Lives in Texas Flood
During catastrophic flash floods in central Texas over the Fourth of July, Minnesota couple Lyle and Sue Glenna took swift action to alert fellow campers, likely saving many lives.
At least 104 people died when a month’s worth of rain fell in hours, swelling the Guadalupe River to 26 feet.
“They were able to get into their truck and honk a warning out to a lot of people at the campground, which definitely helped some people make it out,” said their son Wes Glenna.
The flood overtook the campground in under ten minutes. “They were able to save many lives at the campground by honking their horn and waking people up,” a GoFundMe post said.
Lyle suffered a heart attack due to the trauma but is expected to recover. Over $24,000 has been raised to help the couple rebuild. “These funds are helping them start over — now and completely.”
